The Samsung S3850 Corby II has shed its unofficial tag and is ready to carry on the fun, affordable touch phone legacy of the original. With a 3.14" screen and Wi-Fi b/g/n the Corby II is noticeably more capable but hasn't lost its fun streak either and still has bright color options to offer.
The Samsung S3850 Corby II screen is 3.14" - bigger than the original but retains the QVGA resolution. The camera hasn't changed either - 2MP stills and QVGA@15fps.
The TouchWiz user interface has been updated and features Facebook and Twitter apps preinstalled. The SNS integration continues with the Social hub, which puts SNS features in the phonebook, calendar and inbox.
All that social networking relies heavily on Internet connectivity and although the Samsung Corby II is still a 2G-only phone (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) it does have Wi-Fi b/g/n to help out. Bluetooth 3.0 is also on board.
The Samsung S3850 Corby II packs a microSD card slot (cards up to 16GB are supported), 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio with RDS.
The phone is 11.7mm thick and weighs 102 grams. The Corby II will be available in Carnival Yellow, Candy Pink and Fashion White and will launch in late March, starting with Germany and later on expand to Europe, India, China, Latin America, Asia, Middle East, CIS and Africa.
